OPTION one: Hotel Imperial - Liburnia

This four star hotel is not right on the water but it’s very close. It’s right across the street from a nice park that runs all the way to the coast where you have easy access to the sea promenade. It’s in a beautiful area. They have a gym, a sauna and a steam room but no pool. They offer Turkish baths and spa services.

It’s squarely in budget if you’re comfortable with a non-refundable rate and it comes with a buffet breakfast.

OPTION two: Hotel Istra - Liburnia

This three star hotel is not in town like the first option but it’s right on the water. It’s right the sea promenade which you can walk 10-15 minutes along to get to the center of town. They have an indoor pool, rent bicycles, and offer spa treatments on site. It has solid reviews from guests

It’s squarely in budget if you’re comfortable with a non-refundable rate and it comes with a buffet breakfast.

OPTION three: Amadria Park Hotel Royal

This four star hotel in right on the water with a pool facing the ocean and beautiful views. They have a private stretch of beach for guests to enjoy within a few steps of the promenade which you can take to explore the area. The walk is lined with a garden and goes right along the ocean. They have fabulous ratings from guests and you can actually walk to old town and the dock along the promenade. It’s only a 10-15 minute walk!

The drawback? It’s over budget so this would be your splurge option.

7 night Adriatic Cruise; Opatija - Marina Baotić

Travel dates: October 3rd- October 10th

Day 1 – Saturday, 03.10.
Opatija → Cres
Arrival and check-in at 11am. Drop baggage off with name tags and room numbers, meet and greet , Walking tour of Opatija to start between 1130 and noon for approx. one hour , then have a drink to celebrate our arrival while waiting to board the Aurelia between 1330 and 1400. After boarding the ship in Opatija, the cruise departs toward Cres. Enjoy your first evening onboard and settle into the relaxed Adriatic atmosphere.
Meals included: Lunch onboard
Day 2 – Sunday, 04.10.
Cres → Brijuni → Rovinj
Cruise south from Cres toward the beautiful Brijuni National Park archipelago for sightseeing and exploration. Brijuni entrace fee is 30 EUR per person with additional supplement of 8 EUR per hour for bike rentals. At this price, you get a guide who gives you a tour of the park. If you do not want a guide, you can use the parks application and explore yourself. The bikes can be rented and arranged on the spot at the park. Please let me know if you want to bike.
Continue the cruise to the charming coastal town of Rovinj, where a guided walking tour with your cruise manager is planned. Wander through Rovinj’s narrow streets, colourful houses, and lively waterfront.
Meals included: Breakfast and lunch onboard
Day 3 – Monday, 05.10.
Rovinj → Mali Lošinj
Morning departure from Rovinj toward Mali Lošinj, known for its pine forests, crystal-clear sea, and Mediterranean atmosphere. In the evening, enjoy the panoramic “Providenca” viewpoint experience overlooking the Lošinj archipelago.
Optional activity: Providenca Lošinj – €55 per person- includes a picnic basket and transportation to the viewpoint, 25 EUR per person for just tickets and transfer without the picnic basket. Zero cost if you choose not to go to the viewing point, Let me know what option you choose.

Day 4 – Tuesday, 06.10.
Mali Lošinj → Zadar
Sail toward the historic city of Zadar. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided walking tour through the old town, famous for its Roman ruins, medieval churches, and vibrant waterfront promenade. After the tour, there is an optional visit to Wine Garden Zadar.
Optional activity: Wine Garden Zadar –€28 per person
Meals included: Breakfast and lunch onboard
Day 5 – Wednesday, 07.10.
Zadar → Kornati National Park → Skradin
Cruise through the stunning islands of Kornati National Park before continuing to Skradin. A Captain’s Dinner with live music will be held onboard in the evening. This is a fun event, delicious meal and a good party, business casual attire as we celebrate our good fortunes and friendships. Bring your dancing shoes.

Day 6 – Thursday, 08.10.
Skradin → Primošten
In the morning, visit Krka National Park, It is a big park. You could explore it for days.
Skradinski Buk, is a smaller part of the whole park that is full of waterfalls and wooden walkways that is perfect for groups who visit just for a day.
Vessel Aurelia will be docked in a town named Skradin. To go from Skradin to Skradinski buk, the group will take small vessels. In Skradinski Buk, you can have a guided walking tour or you can explore by yourself. The price for the ticket is 30 EUR per person; the small boat is included in the price.
An offered "cycling tour" starts in Skradin and includes visiting Skradinski Buk, the waterfalls and includes the guide who will show you around the Skradinski Buk. Additionally, you explore more of the park (not just Skradinski Buk) with E-bike. So people who choose to cycle will see more of the park, but both guests who choose to cycle or just walk will see Skradinski Buk and the waterfalls. E bike price is 105 euros which I thought was a bit steep, so I have requested a regular pedal bike price, and awaiting this information. Please tell me if you would like to take the bike option and if you prefer ebike or regular bike, subject to price. Also, I am attempting to determine if the bike price includes the park entrance fee of 30 euros.
Later, once on board the ship, continue cruising to the picturesque seaside town of Primošten, known for its stone streets and scenic peninsula.

Day 7 – Friday, 09.10.
Primošten → Milna
Departure toward Milna on the island of Brač. Cruise, swim and take a leisurly walk in Milna, Enjoy your final evening onboard with an additional dinner planned for guests. Pricing 37 EUR per person. Dinner is optional so if you would rather have dinner in the town of Milna, you are welcome to do so. I arranged this extra dinner as it is our last night on the vessel and thought a final dinner together might be nice. Also, I think the town or Milna is quite small.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, and (optional) dinner onboard.
Day 8 – Saturday, 10.10.
Milna → Marina Baotić
Final breakfast onboard before disembarkation at Marina Baotić. 9 am ish, End of cruise services.

OPTION one: Palace Suites Heritage Hotel

This small mom & pop hotel is right on the square in old town central. Steps outside the entrance you’ll find restaurants, shops, the cathedral, the palace, and Split Riva (the promenade along the ocean’s edge where you’ll find even more options for drinks, dinner, shopping, etc). While it isn’t well furnished in my opinion, the location and reviews are stellar.

It’s a bit over budget but you will save on transportation because everything is walkable from this location; plus, it comes with a buffet breakfast.

The attack

These charming apartments are right in the center of old town. It’s in a similar location as option one so you will still be steps from restaurants, shops, the cathedral, the palace, and Split Riva (the promenade along the ocean’s edge where you’ll find even more options for drinks, dinner, shopping, etc). There are two lovely little one bedroom apartments available for rent in the building. They don’t come with breakfast but they have kitchens and they’re close to several cafes and restaurants. They have a terrace, laundry machines, and an onsite spa. The reviews are great as well.

This hotel has some of the best reviews hands down among the hotels in old town. Still within walking distance to everything and surrounded by restaurants, shops and close to activities like the other options. The hotel is gorgeous. It has a restaurant on site as well as a bar with tapas! They offer spa services on site.

It’s over budget (all of the hotels are high in Split unless you stay far from town) but you will save on transportation because everything is walkable from this location; plus, it comes with a buffet breakfast. That said, this is your splurge option.
